SERVITE COLLEGE OF NURSING, a Catholic institution of higher education for women, is run by the Congregation of Mother of Sorrows. Servants of Mary. It is an ancient indigenous Congregation (1854), international in service: (working in Australia, Italy, Myanmar and the Philippines) and Pontifical in status. Mary at the foot of the Cross, who is the symbol of women’s involvement in liberation, is the patron of the Congregation and so true to its nature it works for the liberation of women and children in many different areas.
The Servite College of Nursing is one of the many institutions run by our Congregation. In the spirit of Jesus Christ whose healing ministry is continued in the Church for the whole human family, this college aims to empower young women to cater to the health needs of the society by training them as health professionals.
The College is duly approved and recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu vide by its Order No.(Ms).No. 37/ H & F.W(PME) Department dated 31.03.2008.

The College is recognized by the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwifery Council-TNC vide by its Order No 404/NC/2008 dated 03.06.2008.
The College is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi vide by its Order F.No. 02/May/2008 = NO dated 30.05.2008.
The main objective of B. Sc Nursing Degree Course is to empower women through Education and Employment – to prepare professionally Competent Nurses and Midwives and to assume the role of Teachers, Administrators of healthcare organization, Clinical Specialists, Nurse Educators, Nurse Administrators, Supervisors and Managers in a clinical/ public health setting.
